Live recording from 15 aug 2024, at my first solo piano show at Soundtrack Cafe, Copenhagen.
A simple concept: play one hour straight, acoustic piano, fully improvised. I added the theme "Music for pushing back the hard times" to guide the improvisation.
It was intense, and gratifying. In my mind, as I was playing, I saw stories that were quite powerful and deep, and a lot of themes of life and death and other places. Those themes became something else as they came out, according to different audience members. I'm happy about how it turned out.
The colorful piano has a missing string, and some duct tape that tries real hard to fix a few missing hammers, but is quite charming and has its own story otherwise. The ambience was also beautiful, with clinkly glasses and chatter, and the occasional vehicle passing by out front. The audio quality could be more crisp, but it does give a sense of the room itself. Recorded with Zoom H5, minor mastering applied.
The music flowed in and out naturally, and I didn't mean to separate the tracks, but since bandcamp limits the maximum size of a track, I split them into 3.
Thanks for checking it out! You can pretend you were at the concert by paying 50dkk for the album and clapping at the end (if you liked it)!
Enjoy!
